Justine O. Keef narrates this story, set in New Zealand. Rugby player Daniel Esera and Paralympian sprinter Catie River transition from friends to lovers. Daniel and Catie have known each other for years--her sister is married to his brother--and they have always maintained a friendly yet combative relationship. Keef's voice hints of the Kiwi accent throughout her narration, which deepens during stronger emotions. Catie's mother is a millionaire businesswoman lacking in affection, and Keef portrays her with a strident voice matching her personality. Quite the opposite, Danny's family is close and friendly, and Keef livens up her portrayals of them. As Danny and Catie constantly tease each other, Keef captures the spirit of their banter.
