Gallagher keeps the story moving at a fast clip and injects pathos into emotional scenes, such as the one in which Rydel is talking with his sister on her deathbed. As the story ramps up the tension, Gallagher ensures that the characters sound vibrant and unique. Faith and science fiction combine in Gallagher's compelling performance.
