Henry Threadgill has lived a rich life as a musician, having grown up immersed in the Chicago jazz scene of the 1960s and traveled the world as a versatile multi-instrumentalist and composer. Ron Butler's edgy narration captures all of the nuances in this memoir, including the author's dry humor, frustration at racial injustice, and passion for playing and composing music.
