HOMECOMING

Author Frank Winter narrates his own audiobook about a high school homecoming dance that turns into a horrifying experience of the afterlife. Students at Villa Vista High School escape their youthful struggles with tests and failed football victories during one night of frivolity at their homecoming dance. But when an accident occurs, the students find themselves in a frightening limbo: It's high school all over again. Winter uses inflections to capture the students' fear and the sarcasm that attempts to hide it. While the sound effects can be jarring at times, the narration overall captures the fright and confusion of teenagers who are coming face to face with their own unexpected mortality.
