Nan McNamara provides a well-paced, upbeat performance of this primer on all things financial in nonprofit organizations. It is primarily aimed at board members, but others can benefit, as well. McNamara's voice has a built-in smile, and her "easy-on-the-ears" delivery ensures that this highly instructive audiobook is also a pleasure to listen to. For obvious reasons, a nonprofit must make enough money to plow back into operations, and board members must ensure that its books remain in the black. This audiobook provides the basics on that oversight. The tremendous amount of technical detail on balance sheets, income statements, and audits could become somewhat excessive for some. Nonetheless, McNamara supports the author's points in a way that makes the complex easier to understand and assimilate. W.A.G. © AudioFile 2023, Portland, Maine [Published: JULY 2023]
