Nancy Linari's soft-voiced narration will make listeners want to curl up in a comfy chair as she delivers this story of a love affair, historic events in November 1947, and a conspiracy. Naïve 16-year-old Jeanne meets a 20-something up-and-coming reporter named John, and sparks fly as they travel with her Chicago class to the UN to observe the vote to create Israel and partition Palestine. Once there, they uncover a frightening conspiracy. Fifty years later John wants Jeanne's help in writing a history of the event, an invitation that rekindles their affair. Linari adopts a gravelly tone for the entire performance and most of the characters, shifting to a chirpy voice for Jeanne. Sloppy pronunciation sporadically mars the flow of the slow-moving story.
