Writer/comedian Jesse Joyce briskly narrates his version of the aftermath of President Lincoln's assassination, filling his account with humorous observations. Joyce adopts a casual, irreverent tone as he tells listeners that Thomas Boston Corbett, who killed presidential assassin John Wilkes Booth, was a hat maker who had been exposed to mercury. Joyce's history also covers the later life of Edwin Booth, whose renowned acting career suffered after his brother's murderous action. Listeners might find themselves laughing in spite of themselves at a few jokes, but they will also find a wearying amount of profanity and tastelessness, as when Joyce gives Lincoln's murderer a profane nickname.
