Listeners join a group of friends at a birthday party who are discussing the murder of a fellow inhabitant of their peaceful Massachusetts town. When one of the partygoers is later discovered murdered, the story is told from the point of view of each character. As they do so, secrets and lies are revealed. The use of varied perspectives is complemented by the use of multiple narrators. Each narrator is well matched to their particular character and highlights their different personalities. In particular, Jonathan Todd Ross creates a wonderfully narcissistic character in Farley and captures the enthusiastic dog, Harper, perfectly. The story's format is strengthened by the multiple narrators as listeners decide whom to believe. K.J.P. © AudioFile 2024, Portland, Maine [Published: JULY 2024]
