Narrators Andrea Emmes and Tim Fannon take listeners on an action-packed journey through time and space. From her ship in orbit, Lieutenant Selene Genji has a horrific view of Earth's destruction, brought about by decades of factionalism over alien contact. When she awakens in a strange ship to discover she's been hurled back in time by the blast, she realizes she may change the fate of humanity. First she must convince Lieutenant Kayl Owen, the disgraced officer who finds her, of what she knows. Fannon's voicing of Owen creates a strong impression as he uses the deep, rolling tones of a classic sci-fi voice-over. While Emmes's narration effectively evokes Genji's shock and sense of displacement, her light and almost childlike tones undercut the character's rougher edges.
