The early part of Connie Chung's narration is a bit uneven--perhaps because of the personal nature of discussing her Chinese heritage and her parents' high expectations for her achievement in life. Once she settles in, her performance of this evocative, informative, and insightful memoir is flawless. Heavy with acerbic wit and "teases" for upcoming chapters, it frequently displays her sense of humor. Chung also invites listeners to relive the history she broadcast: Watergate and Middle East crises being only two. Narration addressing her husband, media star Maury Povich, and their son, Matthew, is heartfelt, and Chung's overall enunciation and emotion are always appropriate to the content. Listeners, news buffs or not, will likely enjoy this audiobook. W.A.G. © AudioFile 2024, Portland, Maine [Published: SEPTEMBER 2024]
