THE MIRACLE AT SPEEDY MOTORS

Audiobooks provide listeners with wonderful stories and narrators who captivate. Rarely has there been a combination as well suited as Lisette Lecat and Alexander McCall Smith's charming #1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series. Lecat was born in South Africa and is gifted with a gorgeous speaking voice. She understands both the dialects and the sensibilities of McCall Smith's many colorful characters. In this episode, aside from Mma Precious Ramotswe's usual investigations, Mr. J.L.B. Matekoni, Ramotswe's husband and the proprietor of Tlokweng Road's Speedy Motors, seems taken in by a doctor whom Precious believes is a charlatan. With some of fiction's most agreeable characters, a consistently amusing story line, and Lecat's splendid performance, this is one fans won't want to miss. S.J.H.
