This post-9/11 story focuses on the difficulties of determining the right memorial for Ground Zero. Speaking in a gentle tone at a moderate pace, Bernadette Dunne portrays an array of male and female characters who are from diverse backgrounds and have equally diverse ambitions and limitations. Dunne delivers the dialogue with emotions that help listeners imagine the dramatic scenes that take place. She is especially good at suggesting the complex reactions of the American Muslim characters as they encounter misrepresentations of their beliefs and culpability for the tragic event that took place. This is a politically charged and timely novel. M.R. © AudioFile 2011, Portland, Maine [Published: NOVEMBER 2011]
