ASTRAY

Beginning with the story of Jumbo the elephant and his keeper, Emma Donoghue’s ASTRAY is a collection of stories about immigrants and emigrants—those who have moved to, from, and within the United States and Canada. Rather than a straight rotation through narrators, each narrator is assigned the story or stories that are best suited to his or her skills. The casting is perfect; all five narrators breathe life into their stories with equal skill, and they all fit their various stories beautifully.
