THE SECRET OF THE WATER KNIGHT

When 10-year-old Kat is whisked off on a seaside vacation by her parents, who desperately want her to learn to swim, she's truly put to the test. While on vacation, she wrestles with the mechanics of swimming and rises to the challenge of rescuing newfound friends from the curse of the vile toad. Cris Dukehart's voice is youthful and crisp, perfect for a young girl's account of her adventures. As Kat, Dukehart is unphased by a talking dolphin or a grotesquely changing human, keeping to a fast pace as each new development arises. Dukehart rounds out her narration with her portrayals of an exasperating father, a sinister local newspaperman, and a playful rat who befriends Kat.
