The expansive mountains of Montana provide the backdrop for two sisters who set out by car to visit a friend--and disappear. Narrator Holter Graham creates a frantic, exhilarating pace as Box continues the story of police detective Cody Hoyt. Graham fuels the listener with the details of "The Lizard King," a truck driver who hunts the sisters along the highway, feeding his and his partners' revolting fetishes and hatred for truck-stop prostitutes. Graham limits his vocal variations but brings gritty detail to the flawed Hoyt as he's pulled from his latest alcohol-induced bender by his naïve partner, Cassie Dewell, to find the missing girls. Box and Graham give us a brutal view inside the cab of the long-haul trucker and the pattern of missing women along the barren highways of the West.
