Some people are born killers--Kwame Diggs is one of them. Like the real-life Rhode Island serial killer he's based on, Diggs began his murder spree as a young teen. And that's where the audiobook begins. Narrator Jeff Woodman, with more than a bit of snarkiness in his voice, tells the story of a reporter of a failing Providence newspaper who wants to make sure that Diggs dies in prison. But when Liam Mulligan learns that the prison system has broken the law to keep Diggs behind bars, he faces an ethical dilemma. At times, Woodman uses a harsh New England accent; at other times, he sublimates the Yankee drawl--as when Mulligan wrestles with his conscience about righting a wrong that would release a monster. Outstanding dialogue and realistic characters make this a compelling listen. M.S. 2015 Audies Finalist © AudioFile 2015, Portland, Maine [Published: APRIL 2015]
