THE THIRD OPTION

Flynn's book, released a year ago, was ahead of its time. Terrorists, financed by a foreign leader, have attacked and partially destroyed the White House. The president creates a secret bureau to find and assassinate them. Enter Mitch Rapp--a primo assassin who is tired of killing and consents to one last job. What happens next isn't predictable at all. Nick Sullivan handles the characters, especially Rapp, with deftness. His pacing is appropriate--deliberate, matter-of-fact, or frenetic, as called for.
