We’re in the thick of celebrating the 2018 Best Audiobooks and finding new ways to get the word out. In addition to our own podcasts, this week I was a guest at the HarperAudio studios in New York to record a podcast episode of Harper Presents. See above—I’m chatting with host Andrew Kaberline and engineer Nathan Rosborough. Also, I was delighted to be Roxanne Cody’s guest on the Just the Right Book! podcast. Roxanne is a real pioneer and leader in book podcasts, and she’s the founder of RJ Julia Booksellers and JustTheRightBook.com. We have both been talking books/audiobooks for more than 25 years! For followers of Overdrive’s Professional Book Nerds podcast, I also got a chance to talk about our process for selecting the daily choices for Behind the Mic.
In case you missed any of this week’s BEST lists or the narrator interviews with January LaVoy and Fiona Hardingham—here you go.
Michele Cobb and I had another busy week with Behind the Mic—on Monday, we started with Best Biography & History Audiobooks.
In our Tuesday episode, Michele chatted with January LaVoy, who intrigued with her comments on ELIZA HAMILTON and put it right on the not-to-miss list. It sounds juicy—and unexpected!
On Wednesday, I revealed the list that has many of my personal favorites on it: Best Mystery & Suspense. We also did individual podcasts of many of these audiobooks.
For our Thursday podcast, we give you some great ideas for gifts for young listeners. I just recommended GOOD NIGHT STORIES FOR REBELS GIRLS to a friend for her 7-year-old granddaughter—and Michele has it on her list as well.
Wrapping up this week, I chatted with Fiona Hardingham, who narrated volume 6 in the Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place series. This complements our podcast interview with Maryrose Wood.
Take a few minutes in your morning routine to listen to the daily episodes of Behind the Mic. We give you ideas for great listening, and insights from the best narrators. We have one more week of five Best Audiobooks podcasts next week. Check out more episodes of our podcast, or subscribe via the podcatcher of your choice: iTunes, Stitcher, or Google Play.
Remember, If you like what you hear on Behind the Mic, please give us a rating or comment on iTunes, as this helps other listeners find us.
