MURDER CAN SPOIL YOUR APPETITE

Accept an organized crime boss as a client? Desiree Shapiro’s first thought is, "No way!" But take the case she does, committing herself to finding out who murdered her client's favorite political protégé. Barbara Rosenblat has a lot of fun with an entertaining story and its goofy characters, capturing every silly nuance and magnifying comic effect. Desiree blossoms into an astute, though at times fumbling, detective, with a heart as big as her stature is small. Her partner, Lou, is just a little off the mark, and at the end of the story we find out why. Crime boss/client Vito de Silva sends shivers up our spines from the first cassette, delicious shivers that speak of intimidation rather than threat.
