ANIMAL INSTINCTS

Kit Lavery, late of Australia, inherits his father's nature reserve in the heart of England, when his father suddenly dies from a fall. The reserve comes with two headstrong women, Elizabeth Punch, who wants to keep the reserve as it is, and Jess Wetherby, who hates hunting but loves the land. Kit plans to sell and go back to Australia until he meets his neighbor, Jinty O'Hare. Alan Titchmarch reads his book in a steady, involved voice that reflects his love of nature. As the plot progresses, Titchmarch becomes more involved in his characters, shaping their actions and emotions with emotive tones, drawing the listener deeper into the story. M.B.K.
