BROKEN THREADS

Jenny Corvill and her husband, Ronald Armstrong, manage the finest weaving mill in mid-nineteenth-century Scotland. Their happiness is disrupted by two crises, first the theft of their daughter and later a long separation when Ronald goes to Australia to check out their end of the wool industry and thinks he wants to stay there without Jenny. Elizabeth Henry's soft Scottish burr enhances the atmosphere of this intriguing mystery / romance as she croons the words of the text. The volume of her voice is so low that it's impossible to hear with open car windows, even at full volume.
