The year 1944 was pivotal in WWII and in the life of President Franklin Roosevelt. As this book explores that important period, Arthur Morey's narration is solid and flowing. He lets the events and the author's words take care of the drama. But neither does he drone, which could have been a problem in some of the long background sections. While those passages offer needed context, they interrupt the overall narrative somewhat and make it harder for Morey to carry the main story along. Morey doesn't try to imitate speakers, even in extended quotations, a wise move, given how well known FDR's voice is. R.C.G. © AudioFile 2015, Portland, Maine [Published: NOVEMBER 2015]
