This is another folksy mystery featuring that middle-aged ex-patriot American, Dorothy Martin. In this adventure Dorothy travels to Penzance to dig into a murder from her husband's early days as a detective, a murder never solved. A new, very similar murder takes place, and Dorothy is soon interviewing locals, climbing cliffs, and reasoning out means and motive. Kate Reading brings Dorothy to life, making us feel as if this nosy avenging Fury is someone we know well. As in other readings, her British accents are determinedly spoken but are not quite right. Still, Reading's presentation is bright, chatty, and appropriate. D.L.G. (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine [Published: AUG/SEP 02]
