FREE FALL

The self-effacing, wisecracking Elvis Cole is wonderfully captured once again by James Daniels. Private eye Cole finds himself embroiled in police corruption and gangs when he takes on the case of Jennifer Sheriden and her cop boyfriend. Daniels adeptly introduces characters such as tough-guy partner Joe Pike, various gang members, and corrupt cops in a smooth and theatrical manner. He carefully spins the plot's fast-moving and riveting twists while quickly passing through the gory parts. With another successful Elvis Cole adventure under his belt, it's a good bet that James Daniels will return to incarnate this clever P.I. D.L.M.
