ME TIMES THREE

Sandra Berlin has her life mapped out. A style magazine editor engaged to her childhood sweetheart, she pines for a suburban future with all the fixings--until she meets her fiancé's other fiancée, who informs her of yet another. As she goes through the rites of betrayal and loss, she is brought to life by Alyssa Bresnahan, who gives a compassionate reading of the story and its many touches of humor. Bresnahan's telling is thoughtful, not speedy, pensive not brusque--as if she were thinking the whole event over in her mind.
