JUSTICE HALL

by | Read by Jenny Sterlin

Mystery & Suspense • 16.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2002

Partners in detecting, Mary Russell and her husband, the inimitable Sherlock Holmes, find themselves tangled in the branches of a royal family tree. The WWI military execution for cowardice of the heir to Justice Hall is shrouded in mystery. With the Hughenfort family honor at stake, Holmes and Russell use disguise, deception, and deduction to uncover shocking truths. In this adventure, Mary does most of the interesting investigating, while Holmes is off doing research. Jenny Sterlin has a voice that rings crisp and true. Her performance of King's British, European, and Arab characters is spot-on. Unhappily, her American/Canadian accent has a nasal flatness that detracts from an important character. However, from opening scene to epilogue, Sterlin brings every tense moment fully alive. This is King at her most ingeniously complex. S.J.H.
