Returning for the second Michael Cassidy crime novel, Keith Szarabajka delivers another stellar performance. The NYPD detective is assigned to Fidel Castro's security detail while he's in New York City. So Cassidy will have to outsmart criminals both inside the police department and out to keep the communist president safe. Taylor's writing is rich with underlying nuance. He invites readers to be a part of the story through their interpretation of those nuances, and Szarabajka does just that for listeners. From his subtle indications of frustration or amusement to his pitch-perfect array of accents, Szarabajka is completely in control. His husky voice fills the barrooms with smoke and the mobsters with venom. This series is pure audio perfection. J.F.
