Grover Gardner's narration of Rosenfelt's whodunits is what good audiobooks are all about, and this newest performance is a prime example. Gardner's delightful portrayal of defense lawyer Andy Carpenter continues to be fresh, allowing listeners to glimpse Andy's soft heart and quick humor, despite his often cynical view of the world. Of course, Andy's biggest soft spot is canine: his treasured sidekick, Tara, and the dogs his foundation helps to rescue. Andy's new program enables incarcerated prisoners to train rescue dogs. When one of the prisoners employs a dog to help him escape and then the man's accuser turns up murdered, Andy is convinced that both man and dog must be innocent.
