Most biographies of Franklin Roosevelt treat his domestic policy, foreign policy, and personal health as separate topics. This audiobook examination of the president's final year seeks to integrate the three. Dan Woren offers an able narration. His fluid style is easy on the ears and carries listeners along nicely even as the author explores this tangle of interconnected issues. Woren wisely chooses not to impersonate FDR's distinctive voice in direct quotations, and his pauses are well timed and effective. While the book breaks little ground for listeners well acquainted with FDR's life, it should prove revealing for many. R.C.G. © AudioFile 2016, Portland, Maine [Published: OCTOBER 2016]
