Clinton Kelly, cohost of "What Not to Wear," narrates his collection of essays like the professional performer he is. His vivid expression highlights his use of detail and humor in stories that range from his childhood on Long Island to his life as a television personality today. He seems to take particular pleasure recounting stories from his earliest days, when he was trying to make a living as a writer and editor in New York City. At these moments his voice is filled with affection for his life and the people in it. He shines, too, in the funniest stories, as when he tries to extricate a friend who gets stuck in a mud bath.
