THE QUENTIN BLAKE AND JOHN YEOMAN COLLECTION

Narrator Stephen Thorne's performance beautifully highlights the wry wit of Quentin Blake and John Yeoman in this collection of short stories. Thorne gives the impression of being able to wink with his voice when the text demands it--but at the same time gives the stories the respect they deserve by not treating them ironically. Music and sound effects are also used well to enhance the individual stories. These highly enjoyable works are only made better by Thorne's narration and the audio production, but they do have a tendency to run together a bit and may be best enjoyed as amuses bouches between other audiobooks.
