A WORLD FULL OF WEEPING Eisenmenger-Flemming Forensic Mysteries, Book 4

Narrator Seán Barrett is wonderful at dialogue, creating distinct voices for a wide range of characters in this rich contemporary gothic tale of murder and bad behavior. There's a vile family secret at its heart that is not exactly impossible to figure out, but Barrett makes the unraveling of it exciting. Surprisingly, for all the impressive care he takes with voices, the usually impeccable Barrett seems not to notice that the connecting prose here is often quite witty, delivering it instead as if it were merely plot data. Nor does he signal when a scene has shifted, which can cause confusion, and there are an unusual number of bad edits.
