Narrator Nanette Savard leads a full cast in this exciting adaptation of Adam Rakunas's debut novel. Savard rounds out the story's lead character, Padma Mehta, giving the tough, driven, damaged union organizer an emotional depth and exciting vibrancy. Savard also directs the excellent cast in beautifully paced passages of dialogue, keeping the action high and the story moving along at quick pace. During some of the high-octane action scenes, the background noise overwhelms the dialogue, and a few sound effects are intentionally painfully loud or high. But, generally, the music and sound effects perfectly paint the setting and set the mood, and the rich sound design stands out as one of the best features of this enjoyable listening experience.
