In this Bible-based guide to balancing busyness and self-preservation, narrator Nan McNamara's polished speaking style works well with Whitwer's advice but sounds less suited to the author's personal stories and disclosures. Nonetheless, McNamara sounds relaxed with this genre and the author's perspectives, and has created a companionable recording of this useful audiobook. The author shares her experiences as an overachieving, self-critical working mother who could not say no to any opportunity to help others or make something more organized. Her gifts for spiritual teaching and administration fueled her overcommitting but sometimes created tension with those who did not share her work ethic. With help from New and Old Testament stories, her solid and often nuanced advice reveals what she did to find the sweet spot between expressing her talents and living with more balance.
