This audiobook, about a celebration for the new library, is Book 5 in the Cherry Cola Book Club series. Like cherry cola, some will love it, and some might find it too sweet and flat. The story takes place in the small Southern town of Cherico and includes all the quirky, eccentric residents who are the stock characters of Southern fiction. Fortunately, they are given voice and vitality by narrator Marguerite Gavin, whose drawl, deft portrayals, and dry tone make listening a pleasure. One example of her well-conceived depictions is Renette, a library clerk who is struggling between her burgeoning sexuality and ingrained religiosity.
