Narrator Tania Rodrigues supports Shamsie's extraordinary novel with subtlety and warmth. This is an audiobook that is about many things, including immigration, love, and manipulation. It's the story of two sisters and a brother, orphan members of a Pakistani-English family of Muslims, as they make their way to graduate school in Massachusetts (one sister), law school in England (the other sister), and jihad in Syria (the brother). The paths and choices they make are all different yet bound up in family. There are several major characters besides the family members, and Rodrigues adroitly handles them all, giving each a distinct voice without distracting the listener from the story.
