This audiobook is another example of someone who needed to flee his home country in order to survive. In this instance, the country is Yemen, where a civil war egged on by Iran and Saudi Arabia is causing havoc. Narrator Assaf Cohen reads with empathy and care, using his gentle, deep voice to support the author's disturbing story. Cohen approaches the audiobook with restraint, allowing the words to take primacy. He also creates understated characters who enhance the account and give it depth.
