Ari Fliakos narrates the eighth book in the Dewey Andreas series. In a tensely plausible thriller, North Korea and Iran negotiate an exchange of technology that will elevate both countries to nuclear powers and allow North Korea to attack the U.S. After the events of previous books, Andreas is attempting to retire but finds himself drawn into a plan to prevent the exchange that goes horribly awry. Fliakos interjects tension and drama, perfectly conveying Andreas's race against the clock to get into North Korea to save the day. Fliakos masterfully voices Andreas with a simmering anger while adding striking accents and thoughtful portrayals of secondary characters. The narration raises an excellent thriller to a must-listen, even for those new to the series. J.M.M. Winner of AudioFile Earphone Award © AudioFile 2018, Portland, Maine [Published: AUGUST 2018]
