This superb account of the desperate battle of the U.S. Marines at the Chosin reservoir in Korea in December 1950 is given an excellent narration by David Pittu. The audiobook's title comes from Sun-Tzu's name for the type of battle in which an army facing annihilation must engage. The story of how the Marines of the 1st Marine Division and soldiers of the U.S. Army's 3rd and 7th Infantry Divisions were able to fight their way out of encirclement by more numerous Chinese soldiers shows how accurate Sun-Tzu's description is. Pittu's baritone is deliberate in pacing and somewhat soft in delivery yet still keeps the listener's attention. He does not affect accents or voices for quotes.
