Amy Landon returns to narrate the second in the Jane Avery series. This time Jane continues to search for her missing mother, meets up with hosts of good and bad guys (all sexy), and ends up in heaps of danger and exciting trouble. Landon does a masterful job keeping up with the quick dialogue and creates an appealing persona for the prickly, and bad-mouthed, protagonist. She is more challenged by the male voices, which all seem slow and a bit slurred. Listeners, beware: If an award were to be given for the most creative profanity in a sentence, author Cynthia St. Aubin would win first prize. That being said, the audiobook provides a fun, engaging listen. E.Q. © AudioFile 2018, Portland, Maine [Published: NOVEMBER 2018]
