Narrator Jim Frangione leaves performance opportunities on the table in this paranormal romance. While he could have provided growly voices with Russian accents, he chose a straightforward narration that lacks color. Leopard-shifter Timur Amurov can barely keep his inner beast on a leash, but he must because he can't afford to lose control while his family is in danger. When his suspicions toward Ashe Bronte, newly hired barista at his sister-in-law's cafe, are overwhelmed by his desire for her, the two will have to navigate their intense sexual attraction while the world around them descends into chaos that threatens all they hold dear. While Frangione provides undeniable consistency to the characters, the glaring absence of accents for the story's international characters leaves a lackluster impression.
