NOWHERE BOY

When Max, a 13-year-old American living in Belgium with his family, finds Ahmed, a 14-year-old Syrian refugee living in the cellar, he must do all he can to ensure his new friend's safety during tumultuous times. Narrator Jeremy Arthur establishes even pacing that intensifies as the police become suspicious about Ahmed's immigration status. Arthur adds accents to both major and minor characters throughout the story, creating clear distinction between voices. Listeners will cheer on Max and Ahmed as they fight prejudice and search for a way for Ahmed to create a life for himself far from his homeland.
