This memoir is an insider's look at the roller coaster ride experienced by a contemporary American with enough political ambition to find herself in residence at the White House. Clearly, the author is passionate in her pursuit of admirable goals for our country, but her intelligent diligence is marred by her indignation at her husband's political opponents. Reader Kathe Mazur's calm, young voice doesn't resemble the Senator Clinton known to most. She is a skilled reader, but perhaps this book would leave a warmer and less self-serving impression if it had been read by the author. On the plus side, Mazur's easy presentation of exotic foreign names transports the listener to international experiences through the eyes of an American first lady. N.M.C.
