Jason Culp's cheerful narration is a good vehicle for the can-do energy of this empowering guide, but between the lines you can also hear the author's conviction and determination to be helpful. In addition to Culp's flinty voice and perfect enunciation, his nuanced phrasing amplifies the author's humanity, expressed here in the form of colorful stories, many from his own life. Thurman, who is in his 70s, says few people are prepared for the many changes they confront as they move from their mid-60s to their mid-80s and beyond. He shows how paying attention to five key areas--body, mind, relationships, soul, and finances--can help us stay on top of these changes. There are strategies we can use, he says, to prevent ourselves from getting stale or becoming too passive in the way we live. T.W. © AudioFile 2019, Portland, Maine [Published: MAY 2019]
