Carrington MacDuffie's narration of this audiobook is first-class. Carys, a rare-book authenticator, seeks to uncover clues hidden in the ancient journal of a monk that may lead to the location of King Arthur's grave. Add to this an appearance by said monk, and listeners know they are joining a fast-paced adventure. MacDuffie's pacing allows the interweaving plots to unfold without seeming rushed. She voices a wide cast of characters well, including both males and females. Her use of accents and intonation aids the listener in differentiating the characters and sets the scene. While her Welsh accent may not sound as authentic as the others, this does not detract from the thrilling tale. K.J.P. © AudioFile 2019, Portland, Maine [Published: MAY 2019]
