The founder and executive director of OUTWORDS, Mason Funk, introduces and contextualizes each of the more than 70 first-person accounts of liberation, disruption, survival, and other experiences collected by the organization to document LGBTQ+ history. Reaching back to the pre-Stonewall era, the whole offers an intersectional tapestry of causes, gender, sexual orientation, race, and class identities. Robin Miles and Kevin R. Free provide standout performances, each delivering accounts from interviewees in compelling tones and fitting accents . Eileen Stevens's young-sounding voice clashes with passages that quote 70- and 80-year-olds. Both Charles Constant and Rick Adamson speak in neutral tones and accents.
