The second in a series of historical mysteries, expertly narrated by Mary Jane Wells, returns the listener to Sarah Gilchrist's Edinburgh. Having no intention to marry her fiancé, Miles, Sarah continues her quest to become a doctor. However, when unexpected deaths occur in Miles's family home, Sarah uses her detective skills to help solve the case. Wells gives a wonderful presentation of the story and the varied characters, slipping deftly between the myriad accents of 1890s Edinburgh. The scant few production issues may be easily dismissed.
