SISTERS OF SUMMER'S END

As two women become involved in romances, narrator Vivienne Leheny gives each of them a fitting voice. Joy works as an activity director at the RV park where Maris runs the camp store and café. Both Maris and Joy have difficult pasts that they are learning to overcome, and Leheny aptly expresses the tentative steps they take toward deepening their friendship. Joy falls for Royce, the new owner of the local drive-in. Joy has a young son, Jack, and the listener can easily picture him and his exuberance over Royce's puppy, Chaos. Maris develops a relationship with Daren, the handyman at the park. Leheny has the listener appreciating the characters' thoughts as they move toward their happy endings.
