Narrator Janina Edwards elevates a charming story with her portrayals of the bickering hero and heroine. Maddie and Theo may not be able to stand each other, but their chemistry in the bedroom is undeniable, so they make an agreement: They'll sleep with each other until their best friend's wedding, after which they'll part ways. As the argumentative couple spend more time together, however, their loathing starts to look a lot more like love. Edwards uses hushed tones that don't disappear during whispered confessions and more assertive emphasis when the characters engage in a passionate topic. She loses some distinction between character voices throughout the narrative, but her overall delivery is charged with snappy energy that brings the cast to life.
