Boston-born, Yale-educated humorist/writer/actor John Hodgman has been blessed with a voice that makes him sound like a world-renowned authority and a nincompoop at the same time. It's a wonderful combination. In his fifth book, Hodgman takes on the dogged pursuit of airline bonus miles; the trappings of post-fame, when one isn't quite as recognizable as one once was; and the fine art of faking competence. Hodgman even takes a pointed and politically insightful detour to Mar-a-Lago. Best of all, he gleefully and sincerely discusses his favorite breakfast meat, scrapple. It warms this reviewer's heart to hear that somebody so famous loves scrapple so much. A must-listen for all those who appreciate breakfast and comic genius. B.P.
